The Hidden Side of God’s Favor
Share
When many people pray for favor, they expect life to get easier—doors opening, opportunities flowing, and blessings pouring in. But true favor rarely begins that way. In fact, it often leads through seasons that feel completely opposite.
If God is to heal, there must first be sickness. If He is to expand you in wealth, you may first taste lack. If He is to surround you with love, rejection may come before acceptance. If He is to strengthen you, then trials must test your weakness.
This is the mystery of God’s favor: it is most visible when contrasted against what seems unfavorable. Blessings shine brightest against the backdrop of hardship.
Favor Works in the Shadows
Favor doesn’t always arrive with a trumpet sound. Often it moves quietly, positioning you where others never expected to see you. While people may only notice the results, the process is where the true transformation happens.
That’s why challenges, delays, or even rejection aren’t always signs of failure. They may be proof that God is refining and preparing you for what He has already set aside. Man’s disapproval cannot cancel God’s approval.
Can You Carry Favor?
Favor is weighty—it demands strength, prayer, and surrender. It requires a heart that is willing to endure the storm so the blessing can be revealed. Favor will expose the weak places in us so that we become strong enough to carry what God pours out.
The real question is not, “Do I want favor?” but rather, “Can I carry it?”
